The army of Ukraine will become technically compatible to forces of NATO in the near future. Such statement was made by the president of the country Petro Poroshenko. Thus the head of Ukraine emphasized that in this military reform Ukrainians will be guided by Atlantic.

Poroshenko noted
that, unfortunately, for the last two decades the former leadership of Ukraine
didn't manage «to pass at open doors of NATO». And in such situation
the Alliance officially isn't de jure the ally of Ukraine. Meanwhile de facto,
the president Poroshenko so considers, NATO is the main partner of Ukraine in
ensuring its national security.
Ukraine accepted «The military doctrine» which task – by 2020 to provide full
technical and tactical compatibility of Army of Ukraine with all similar
military forces of member countries of Alliance.
