Moskovia opposes the international rights

Moskovia opposed discussion in the UN Security Council of a condition of human rights in Ukraine. The permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN called discussion of human rights in occupied to the Crimea and in territories of Ukraine under control to the Kremlin terrorists «attempt to distract attention of the whole world» from implementation of the Minsk Agreement.

Discussion of a situation with human rights in the Crimea and in territories of the East of Ukraine under control to separatists and the Kremlin terrorists which took place during a meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday, December 11, 2015, was detained on an hour and a half because of a position of the Kremlin. As reported ARE agency, right after the beginning of a meeting the permanent representative of Moskovia to the UN Vitaly Churkin declared that discussion concerning human rights in Ukraine has to happen not in the UN Security Council, and in Geneva – in Council of the UN for human rights.

Churkin emphasized that discussion of human rights subject is attempt to distract attention" from implementation of the Minsk arrangements. In response to it Samantha Pauer – the constant representative of the USA at the UN who in December presides in the UN Security Council, took an interest at Churkin: «What does Russia try to hide? We understand this your very unsuccessful attempt to prevent that the UN Security Council heard about the facts, which inconvenient for the Kremlin».

The meeting of the UN Security Council on an occasion of human rights violations in the Crimea and on Donbass was called at the initiative of the USA. The assistant to the UN Secretary General on human rights Ivan Shimonovich reminded that since the beginning of the conflict, that is since April, 2014, in the east of Ukraine about nine thousand civilians were killed. Even at the time of relative calm in military operations lack of rule of law very much complicates a situation with human rights for 2,7 million civilians who live in the territories under control to separatists and the Kremlin terrorists.

«Reports on human rights violations in these territories arrive constantly. It is, among other things, about murders, tortures, ill treatment, illegal detentions and forced labor. Locals still remain without effective protection of the rights», – Ivan Shimonovich emphasized.
