During the speech in Azerbaijan, Turkey’s Prime
Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said economic sanctions cannot bring his country to
its knees.
Davutoglu reiterated that Turkey would not apologize
for downing the Russian Su-24 bomber Nov 24, as the country's air forces
carried out their duty.
At the same time Davutoglu once again stated that
Turkey stands for an open dialogue with Russia.
As reported earlier, Russian President Vladimir
Putin claimed that Turkey's decision to down a Russian Su-24 bomber was driven
by a desire to conceal alleged oil smuggling from territories controlled by the
terrorist group "Islamic State".
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in response,
said their government is not so dishonest to buy oil from terrorists.
